NYC ART x Sweet Treat 311
Art workshop empowering children affected by 2011 Tohoku Earthquake.
Together, we will build a sculpture for their new learning center.
YUKA : PROJECT COORDINATOR/TRANSLATOR has recently moved to NYC from her home in Japan. She has experience coordinating through the Japan Committee for UNICEF in emergency relief. With UNICEF, Yuka coordinated a pen-pal letter project (Tegami Project) between children in Tohoku and 34 other countries / religions. Yuka saw how creative projects make a big difference for children recovering from the devastation.
HANNAH : ARTIST is a sculpture/installation artist with years of teaching experience. She is currently working towards a masters at Occupational Therapy at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, to use her creative and therapeutic skills for individuals in recovery.
